Methodology
How the daily Pulse is built
A bounded explanation of what the public interface includes, excludes, and preserves.
Daily, immutable evidence
ConsensusIQ compares completed Polymarket US catalog snapshots from distinct UTC dates. A completed Pulse is published as an immutable daily edition with its exact source observation time. A source snapshot through 36 hours old is labeled Current daily edition; an older snapshot is labeled Delayed daily edition.
Quotes and stable sides
A complete quote requires both a best bid and best ask. The displayed BBO midpoint is their average. Market identity uses the stable market ID, and outcome identity uses stable market-side IDs rather than array position.
Reading the labels
- Verified comparison
- Two daily snapshots passed the matching-side, quote, spread-at-or-below-10-cents, movement, and source-backed activity checks.
- Complete quote
- A best bid and best ask were available in the daily snapshot.
- Limited quote
- A best bid or best ask was unavailable in the daily snapshot.
- Current or delayed edition
- Current means the source snapshot is no more than 36 hours old. Delayed means it is older than 36 hours.
These labels describe the completeness and recency of ConsensusIQ's source observations. They are not grades, predictions, or recommendations.
Same-event comparisons
When at least two contracts from one event are published, ConsensusIQ compares only those displayed contracts using selected-side midpoint, verified daily movement, spread, source-reported activity, and recent observation count. Activity values are compared only when they use the same source. Unique peer labels describe market activity and data conditions; ties receive no winner. The comparison does not cover every Polymarket contract, estimate expected return, or identify which position to take.
Largest Verified Moves
A provisional comparison requires compatible stable sides, complete quotes, a bid-ask spread no greater than 0.10 in both snapshots, and at least one percentage point of movement. It then needs positive source-backed activity. When both catalogs report volume, either explicit zero excludes the comparison. When either catalog omits volume, a bounded current market Book lookup must report positive traded notional.
Reported volume is reserved for the catalog field. Reported traded notional is the Book's current cumulative value; it does not mean activity occurred inside the daily comparison window. Rows are ordered by absolute movement magnitude with stable identifiers as deterministic ties.
Discovery sections
Closing Soon uses contracts whose Source end time falls inside the Pulse 72-hour window. Contracts with complete quotes appear first. Contracts with unavailable quotes are separated as Limited market data. Source end time is source metadata, not a verified trading cutoff.
New Markets contains contracts first observed in the latest comparison. Its primary list requires a complete quote. An explicit catalog zero remains excluded, while a contract with missing catalog volume may still appear with Reported volume unavailable. New Markets does not use Book lookups.
Context and ordering
Optional audited Global context identifies its qualified-trader count and exact observation timestamp. Historical trader performance does not guarantee future results. Global context has no effect on Pulse ordering.
What the rankings mean
Rankings describe observable timing, movement, quote quality, and discovery status. They do not estimate expected return, outcome accuracy, or future direction. Missing data remains missing; excluded or legacy prices are not substituted to fill a section.
